This Privacy Policy describes how Worder LLC ("Worder," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, stores, and protects your personal information when you use the Worder platform ("Service"). By using the Service, you consent to the practices described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Account Information

Name, email address, and password hash (encrypted). We do not store passwords in plain text.

2.2 Voice and Video Data

Voice actors upload audio samples (voice recordings in various styles and emotions) and verification videos (recordings of the voice actor speaking a designated phrase on camera). These recordings contain biometric data, including voiceprints and facial imagery. By uploading this data, you explicitly consent to its collection, storage, and use as described in this policy and our Terms of Service.

2.3 Transaction Data

Purchase history, pricing plans, payment information (processed by Stripe — we do not store credit card numbers), and generation history.

2.4 Generated Content

Text inputs submitted for speech generation and the resulting audio files.

2.5 Usage Data

Browser type, device information, IP address, pages visited, and interaction patterns. Collected automatically via standard web technologies.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To provide, maintain, and improve the Service
• To facilitate AI voice cloning and speech generation
• To verify voice actor identity and voice ownership
• To process payments and manage transactions
• To display voice actor personas, styles, and verification seals on the marketplace
• To use voice content in marketing, advertising, and promotional materials as permitted under our Terms of Service
• To communicate with you about your account, transactions, and Service updates
• To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security threats
• To comply with legal obligations

4. How We Do NOT Use Your Information

• We do not use voice samples to train, fine-tune, or improve AI models
• We do not sell your personal information to third parties
• We do not share your voice data with third parties except as necessary to provide the Service (e.g., sending audio to the AI generation engine)

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on secure servers provided by Vercel and Vercel Blob Storage. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt. Voice and video files are stored with private access controls and served through signed URLs. We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

6. Data Sharing

We share your information only in the following circumstances:

• With buyers: Voice samples, persona names, styles, and verification videos are displayed publicly on the marketplace
• With service providers: Stripe (payments), Vercel (hosting), AI generation providers (speech synthesis). These providers process data only as necessary to provide their services
• With law enforcement: When required by law, subpoena, or court order
• In business transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred to the acquiring entity

7. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. Voice content is retained in accordance with the license granted in our Terms of Service (Section 4), which survives account termination. Transaction records are retained for a minimum of 7 years for tax and legal compliance purposes. You may request deletion of your account data by contacting privacy@worder.com, subject to our legal retention obligations and the license granted in our Terms.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights:

• Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Correction: Request correction of inaccurate personal data
• Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data, subject to legal retention obligations and the license granted in our Terms
• Portability: Request a machine-readable copy of your data
• Objection: Object to certain processing of your personal data

9. Biometric Data Notice

The Service collects biometric data in the form of voiceprints (extracted from audio recordings) and facial imagery (from verification videos). This data is used for voice cloning, identity verification, and fraud prevention. By uploading voice samples and verification videos, you provide informed written consent to the collection, storage, and use of your biometric data as described in this policy. Biometric data is retained for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described herein or as required by law.

10. Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that we have collected data from a child under 18, we will delete it promptly.

11. Cookies and Tracking

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We may use analytics cookies to understand how the Service is used. You can control cookie settings through your browser.

12. International Data Transfers

Your data may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence, including the United States. By using the Service, you consent to such transfers.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on the Service and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
